Choosing your Data Sources

Last updated: September 3, 2026

The sources selector inside the question box allows you to toggle which of Alfa's connected data Alfa pulls from when answering your question. You are able to choose to use or not use the following before submitting your prompt:

  • Web search

  • Web scraping

  • News

  • Regulatory filings

  • Earnings reports

  • Corporate events

  • Connectors

Turning off a source here narrows what Alfa searches for that question — useful if you want an answer based strictly on filings, for example, rather than blended with news or the open web.

Trusted Sources

You are also able to set up a custom list of Trusted Sources for web search, web scraping, and news.

How to set up your own list of trusted sources:

  1. Click your profile at the bottom left of the platform on any page.

  2. Open Settings.

  3. Navigate to Trusted Sources.

  4. Click "Add source" and enter the name and associated domain or URL to your list of trusted sources.

  5. Click "Add" to save your changes.
